A few days are still left to Contemplate: Henceforward

A few days are still left to Contemplate: Henceforward

The countdown has begun for the official retirement on 31st May 2013. The modest dream or desire , or even a minimal expectation is that my knees and the back, eyes and arms will be reasonably strong enough, vibrant enough to sit and study, write and ruminate upon the life in general and Economics discipline in particular . The ball is in the court of the creator. I will play the game depending upon the ground and my strength.

Like Cleopatra, Economics has made me academically hungry even while it has satisfied me abundantly. My moral universe, relatively strong and secure was positioned by students and books. The only difference after 31st may would be that my home may turn out to be the workplace, as it had been all along, even while I was officially employed in my second home.

A few MBA guys who met last night was  only a sample of my vastly expanding population of my students who always kept me in good stead, in a functional way. I will not miss them in my virtual world. But regular teaching, I will miss.

Age will not wither my appetite for   reading and writing  or to take genuine interest in the welfare of fellow human. At the end of the day, what matters is your good deeds and moral strength and not the degree of intellectual prostitution, that one can indulge in for pelf and position, power and title. I thank the almighty for having saved me from the dirt and filth of the devilish world.

Student friends! Come on! Life is short. We can make it sweet and enjoyable.
Let’s all enjoy all the simpler pleasures of life under the sun, without compromising on core values of life. We will continue to believe in the goodness of the universe.

Presence and fragrance of grand children will make life easy going

You have seen your parents exit from earth,
And get assimilated into vast universe,
To oversee the loved ones, the poor and the disadvantaged.
You are now seeing your children, settled in life,
Radiating happiness, rendering work ethics
Upholding family values and virtues.
The only setback is the ailing loving wife,
She too will soon come back to good health
There are signs of remarkable recovery-
Far better than the U.S economy and
Debt stricken PIGS countries in Europe
Time will heal, the tide will change,
The cycle will rotate for the better,
Better times will blossom
Be happy man, that is the sure way of being wise
What else you need, old man, when you feel young at heart
The two grand children are full of fun, enthusiasm, and adventure,
They talk about death and life and conduct
Mock Court kind of Drama in real life,
Discussing and debating the perils of drought,
Damage to environment, on their own
And not tutored by parents.
Enjoy their curiosity, their caring for company
Their dreams to go out and breathe fresh air
And fly with wings and laughter.
Spend more time with them,
Understand their mood and help develop their positive attitude.
In their presence and fragrance, your BP will go downhill,
Madam will rediscover her form and peace
Shakthi will get rejuvenated by the
Entire cosmic energy captured at HOME.

If we are destined to suffer by loving, we shall do that mistake again and again

You may have had your pain than what you bargained for
But kindly remember,
There are many, who have suffered more and experienced more pain,
And still endured them with a
Stoic smile, without much complaint
For those, exalted souls, suffering is the spice of life.
Life would offend and also wound in its natural course
Not because you mistreat or ill-treat your fellow humans
But because you have loved them more dearly and heartily
Shakthi, we shall accept all the pains of life along with the pleasure,
All the sorrows under the sun with joy and all the emptiness of life
And its absurdities with full happiness at heart.
At the end of the day,
There’s only bliss and joy.
 Let’s rejoice over that wisdom,
We shall not lose hope under any trying circumstance.

What we need is Second War of Independence

On Manmohan’s Economic Reform Exercise
Some one remarked long ago:
“After having tried ineffiently and
Dishonestly to help the poor,
The Govt is determined to help the rich
Honestly and efficiently”.
This quote was in the early years of Reform era
Having spent two terms, as FM and PM,
He has become a lame duck politician.
Suddenly he became a reformist again
To help the rich honestly and efficiently
By opening up Retail Trade.
He may think, he has taken a big step forward
Time alone would tell
How this great nation is slowly
Mortgaged to overseas vested interest,
Inclusive of Domestic Monopolies
And criminalized politicians soaked in dirt and filth of various scams and scandals
What we need now is
Not second generation of reform
But second war of independence,
To set right the cumulative neglect of the poor.

The Crooked Preaches the Sermon: Earth is revolving around us, not the sun.

Mother Earth does not grumble when it’s caved in
Granite stones, illegally mined and exported
Forests and Mountains fully raped, without any trace
Rivers privatized and polluted
Common property water resource fully commercialized and bottled up
For how long Mother Earth could endure this holocaust?
This plunder, loot, Reckless Destruction of nature?
When will civil society tame the Govt
Which has forgotten its responsibility-the art of governance…
The crooked and wicked wink and smile and say,
“We are the Masters of universe,
We know what’s common good, and private greed
Earth is revolving around us, and definitely not the sun
We are discharging our social responsibility in our own way
By enhancing private greed and feeding it perpetually”.
Common cold like infatuation must run its course
Rampant political prostitution too, will run its course,
Muddling policy environment and Molesting
The dignified life of honest and good they thrive on like weeds?
Who will cleanse the dirt and filth?
People are no longer deaf and dumb
They will not remain blind to all kinds of atrocities
All of us are not going to be here for hundred years
And hence, we shall show varied kind of resistance
Like waves of sea rise during Tsunami,
Civil society too will also check the deteriorating standards
Via democratic means and nonviolent means
Until then, practice restraint, patience, and perseverance.
