Molested and Wounded by Unbriddled Capitalism- The Disadvantaged thrive on

Water becoming , a subject of

hate politics ,

Scarcity of this precious good,

Will rein in more terror,

Hatred and violence,

In the years to come.

All of us want fresh air to breath

Abundant clean water to drink

And some roof to cover

From Sun and rain .

Many are not fortunate enough

To be blessed by the Lord and

Yet, many disadvantaged people

The downtrodden and the deprived

Lead a life of poverty,

Soaked in acute unemployment,

With all smiles and belly laughter .

They know,

They are powerless and

Defenseless to alter

The course of life.

Deeply hurt and profusely confused by

The creation’s mystery,

Molested and wounded by,

Unbridled global finance capitalism.

The maya of the So called

Market lead economic order ,

They somehow live and labor,

With all patience and perseverance.

Love always locked up in their heart,

And also welled up in their eyes,

With salty tears,

My dear Sakthi !

You need to show love,

To these people and give

More recognition.

Leading a simple life means

Sharing the burden of the weak,

The poor and the disadvantaged,

Albeit marginally at least (From My Dateless Dairy)

The Art of Simple Life

“It is a gift to be simple.

It is a gift to be free. “

So goes an old song.

The color of life and its festivity

Depends on how we look at it

through our own lens and perception.

Leading simple life does not imply

Isolation or seclusion

Or living on beans only and

Avoiding the simplest pleasures of life.

We should not allow others

To mess up our life at any time

I have just stumbled upon

An interesting quote

By an English novelist

And playwright, Jerome Klapka

On the art of simple life.

“Let your boat of life be light,

Packed with only what you need-

A homely home and simple pleasures ,

One or two friends worth the name,

Some one to love and

Someone to love you.

A cat , a dog and

A pipe or two.

Enough to eat and

Enough to wear and

A little more than

Enough to drink,

For thirst is the dangerous thing.”

On the Threshold of Sweet Sixteen

My Dear Shakthi, Siva, Joe,

My child, my love, my friend

How is it that you have grown

Too quickly and also taller in stature

Bolder in temperment;

Do you have that’child’ in you,

As you have began to

Cris cross the middle layer of

The teenage?

Are we friends now?

Do you listen to me ?

Have I became a responsible

‘Appa’ to guide and goad

You to higher academic goals?

Has the transition from cluny

To vivekananda,

Upset you very much ?

Is it like a rose,

With many thorns ofcourse?

Is Rekha a gentle breeze or a violent storm,

Sent fropm heaven

To provide anchor (emotional)?

To fill the vaccum

Left by your beloved suchitra !

Delinking from cluny,

The inevitable

Distorning of many

From that beautiful paradise

A blessing in disguise?

You can’t forget those roots,

Tender creepers, your policewoman role,

Your dancing theater,

Carefree laissezfaire life,

Filled with fun and freedom,

Music and dance

Mischief and indifference

To studies ofcourse.

2002 will mark a

Watershed in your life-

A notional/ temporary exit of suchitra

Entry of Rekha,

Continual contact with your

Bososm friend in U.S

Over phone and internet,

Make you feel as if

You are in a safe world of

Durable friendship,

Love, care and concern.

Cluny circle will continue to graviate.

Accomodating and adjusting

With mischevious boys

And pulling on,

Wearing smile on the face

Always,

In the ‘new’ environiment,

Without creating much fuss,

You can give credit to yourselves.

Fighiting for gender equity,

Wging war against

All kinds of injustice,

Inequities and adharma,

You can do it slowly,

More strategically.

Have commitment to work

For their upliftment

Your father couldn’t go

Beyond a limit,

Even while crossing the

Lakshman Rekha many a time,

Virtually crossing swords

With elements of

Criminality and venality.

In the absence of

Integrity and efficacy

At the top,

Our passonate concern

And feverish enthusiasm

To cleanse the system

Can at best remain as

‘pwoerful voices of Dissent’

Causing ripples.

Remember,

Their effects in cosmos

Will unleash benificial outcome,

One day.

It’s time we learnt the

Art of cultured silence,

Saintly silence, on occassions,

Without abandoning our

Core identities,-

Vibrant personalities.

The innocence of

The first three,

Teen age years

You have handled effectively !

As a person !

Thought not as a

Hard working student.

The over all report card

Is very good.

But there are

Vital / crucial red marks-

Health- not much cooperative

Diet- not raken much seriously

As junk food has

Taken over your

Strong parental genes

And lending a and of assistance,

In household work ,

Is still a marginal

Few minutes morning touch.

When you complete

The enchanting sweet sixteen,

Will you grow into an

Adult - ?

Full of vigour and

Physical strength.

Keeping the house clean, and

Cooking the food you like

At Kitchen,

Fully autonomous and

Independent,i.e

Not sitting before T.V.Box

During all the eye,

Your posture, health

And ofcourse your

Physical frame,

Not to speak of the academic loss.

Vijay and maddy

Surya and vikram

Need not disappear

From the scene

Altogether.

There must be adequate

Space for

Reading, walking,

Sleeping, cooking,

Washing and cleaning

And helping the ailing mummy.

You need to change,

You will, you can.

D.Sam @50-Part Two

Given your self imposed

Work pressure, teaching style

Agitated mind and anxious nature

About societal problems,

Escalaton in BP is just a

Natural derivative;

No need to panic or worry

You have given a long rope

To the members of your academic family

To messup your life.

No problem. They will reap for

What they have sown.

It’s their Karma

To saok themselves into a pit of

Perpetual Drinage canal

And lead and goad other crooks

To action.

Forget all the embodiment of evils-

A sort of rotton plastic components.

Even mother Earth would refuse

To assimilate them into her fold.

Ignore them, for your peace

Your good and your health.

You can’t boom like U.S

In the face of your illetarcy in I.T,

Rigidty in dealing with people

And more important

Your inherent inability

To conduct an exhibition in the art of flattery.

But the best fruits of the U.S

(such as ) record low unemployment

And better inflation performance,

You can also reap by

Restraining your tounge outside the classroom

And at home

Moderating your speed on the stage

And inside the classroom

Relaxing on the floor

And sitting on the sea shore

Writing and reading

More profusely with

Purpose and focus

Restructuring and streamlining

Work pattern, lecture materials

Sleeping time and walking schedules.

Early weaks of 2000

Are significant enough

To meditate on life, I was told.

The fifteeth year has come

At right interval, to ponder over

And put order and harmony in life.
