D.Sam @ 50-Part One

Today I must write

A few lines for myself

To anchor firmly on

Solid rock of stability

Health and academic progress

Most of us here

Honestly do not know

Why are we here?

What we are supposed to do?

One thing is certain

Many a time, we don’t know

What are we doing?

Most of the events taking place

Around us,are

Chaoitic, unpredictable and perplexing.

At fifty, life is so divided,

So uncertain, so worrisome.

That feelings of death

Have enveloped you,

In a more interesting way:

At times, you fear death

Lest the younger one will lose

Her best friend on Earth.

And many a time,

A fond desire crops up to die

Death must spontaneously come,

Kiss and embarace me in a

Peaceful way,

And not the likes of

Presentpeaceful killing.

All these eager imaginaations

Are only a false dream , I know.

At the turnof the

New milenium,

The U.S is booming

Svayed by the wave of new economy

A fascinating growth story indeed,

Faul of history and mystery

A rampant manifestation of

Market ideology and computer technology

All leading to saving of real time

In the sphere of producction and distrubution and retailing.

In the process of ageing

Your familiar boyish look

And appearance are waning fast

Cumulative emotional disturbances

Have registered their stamps

On your body and mind.

“tired of being tired”

You want to retire from

Active life.

It’s too early for that

You can’t just afford to retire

The show must go on. (February 22nd,2000)
