The Letter to The Hindu written when I was a faculty in the PG center, but not published

Dear Sir

This has reference to your editorial Dispel the suspicion and the centre page article " Dog days for th Congress" 

In the wake of Mr Harshad Mehta's allegations against the PM the Congress party has become more sentimental about its leaders, notwithstanding the growing dissidence.

The party exists to stay in power and they exist to help it.Neither side forgets this for long.

I invoke Churchil to sum up the relationship:

"The loyalists which centers upon number one are enormous.If he trips , he must be sustained. If he makes mistakes they must be covered.if hi sleeps he must be wantonly disturbed.If he is no good , he must be pole-axed."

Mr Rao will be crowned in glory if he wins the ensuing assembly elections in the Northern States hitherto ruled by BJP and despatched with deadly efficiency if he fails
