Ruminating over my first grand daughter' birth Part 1

Following is from my dateless diary(end December 2005) when I wrote a few lines for my first granddaughter.I found out this in the jungle of files just now.

For long  I have been not able to read or write as I would  like to .
The entire Tamil region has been fully flooded,
But  I was floating on drought of publication,
Alas, I am unable to resolve the puzzle of my academic inactivity.

When the Youngest stepped into sweet twenties,
And the Eldest was celebrating her birthday with pregnancy
That is when you were in your Mother's womb
And the Teacher /daughter  had her post-marriage birthday
I could not write and record it for my pleasure and your reading in future.

Let me pool my limited energy and meditate upon you.
You had your own struggle to make an exit
And even after you were taken out with the warmth of  Doctor's hands'
Your struggle continued and you must have endured them with stoic smile.

Not being aware of your discomfort and the danger zone into which you have fallen into
Unmindful of all  the turmoil and your suffering, I was at work
Discharging my administrative duty of conducting the Program me committee meeting
