when my first granddaughter was struggling to take the first step

From my dateless diary(21 January 2007):

Yesterday was your parents’ marriage anniversary
Seven years have rolled on since they tied the knot
You are here now as a one year old precious daughter,
As a signature to their life, dreams and modest ambition.

Having crossed the first year there is still some critical difficulty
In taking the first step freely.
We are glad to see you standing for a minute
Without the support of a sofa reassuring us,
You  are a slow starter but a keen observer of events
 Taking place in close vicinity.

You close relationship with bubblu is puzzling
It is more subtle ,tender and more warm.
You want all our care, attention and concern.
If only a joint family system had been there,
You would have profited more when love was
Unleashed aand paraded under the common roof.

Your tendency to go out and see things and people,
And breathe the fresh air floating outside
All revealed through the body language and agitated laughter
Gladden me and make me wonder about the
Assertive girl wanting to grow with wings so as to enjoy
The Smell and  the sounds of the vast  expanse of the universe

to grow with wings
