Dear Sakthi, for your queries
On Death and Destruction,
Let me extensively quote a verse
Composed by Ms.G.Ranjitha Mary some time ago
On her twin loss, first the
Brother soaked into the vortex of the unknown
On the university campus road, while riding on motor cycle
Then her beloved mother breathing last
On a national highway - at midnight car accident
By the cruel and wicked fate.
She’s the only surviving heir;
Fully shattered, bemused and blindfolded by fate
Ranjitha has touched the bottomless pit of suffering
Of agony and despair, at a tender age.
Yet, she’s stubbornly very strong, more
Defiant like a vibrant Sun,
Carrying on with candour, courage and conviction
Having faith in the goodness of the universe
Without having any rancor to anyone
Shall we listen to Ranjitha, now :
“Human Life is precisely fragile
Like the thinnest thread of pure silver
Wavering in the breeze
Like the tinest flame
Flicking in the wind.
Not once but twice has a thread been cut
A flame blown out
Once for a brother much loved and adored
Once for a mother, sweet heart for all
But human life is defiant
As mine now is
I will survive, I know, I can
Shine as purely as silver can
Blaze as brightly as fire does
Until my thread is cut
My flame blown out .”
Sakthi, death does not discriminate between the
Young and old, good and bad, ugly and beautiful,
Scholar and stupid, the arrogant and mild,
But evil minds soaked into dirt and meanness
Make everything politics and trivialize the
Untimely tragedy, unwilling or unable to
Participate in a fellow human’s suiffering
Kindly note Sakthi , the departed soul was an exalted one :
More kinder , and nobler , more benevolent towards society
And more involved at the campus quarters and outside
She has lived her full life with love and gratitude,
With infinite love towards humanity, at large.
