EYES LOSE THEIR INNATE BEAUTY BY PROFUSELY CRYING OVER THE SEPARATION OF HER LOVER

For nearly a week i was away from Pondicherry and spent quality time with my grandson. I am not getting the environment  to sit and do work. There is some urgent official work. Amidst all these I go back to our Kural to meditate on the eye the focal element in our theme of love:

Now a day, a mere sight of beautiful flowers,
Make my eyes,
Tremble with shyness
Shall I tell the reason?
Leaving me in lurch,
Inflicting pain on me,
My ardent lover has gone
To far off place.
Thinking about my lover,
My eyes have shed copious tears.
And profoundly lost their innate beauty .

This Kural not only depicts the flight of labour towards the greener pastures elsewhere but also captures the agony the ladylove experiences after the separation. Her beautiful eyes have lost the natural beauty because of crying over the separation
