While there is always an inevitable and spontaneous urge
to fall in love it is not an easy task to understand the other sex. The irony
here is that, as individuals we do not know who we are and what we are and thus
fail to understand ourselves, as a fish does not know much about the water in
which it lives all through the life. If there is a great deal of mistrust and
wrong understanding even among the family relations with tremendous blood
connection, how are we going to be compatible with a stranger born in a
different family environment and economic circumstances. Of course the ancient
Kurunthokai padal gives a way out for this dilemma by defining love in a more
sensual and spiritual way.
In this context, it’s appropriate to quote and remember the famous
Kurunthogai Padal: Translation is mine
We don’t know each other
In which way my father
And your father are related?
Like rain soaked red earth,
Our hearts bound by love
Have fused with each other
This fusion is more like, fixing positive with negative
together to generate electricity, as if two great lightening, generate enormous
amount of power. This tendency on the
part of a male to develop a peculiar chemistry and physics with a girl, at a
right age, is essentially to work out his karma and work ethics, in
collaboration with the other kinder soul and thus reap all kinds of pleasure
and suffering in life. Yes, no one is
alone in the world and each one has a partner to live with and share all the
moments of joy and agony arising out of blissful experience with a girl.
